Simulate a City
1. Setting and Running simulation
Ktirio-GUI enables the modeling and analysis of urban environments, offering a scientific and data-driven tool to assist users, stakeholders and decision makers with issues focusing on building structures, energy efficiency, and energy network management.
To set a city-scale simulation, click Simulator in the toolbar. Choose type “Ktirio-Urban-Building”, then click Create. The simulator appears in the Project Browser. In Properties, click New simulation to create a run. You can create multiple simulations with different inputs and parameters.
In simulation settings, choose Mode “Simulate” (or “Benchmark”). In Machine, set the host, partition, credentials, and computing resources (nodes, tasks). In Setup, choose the geographic zone (if multiple) and time parameters (start, end, time step). Use Update Input Data to add/modify inputs, or Export Input Data. Start with Run.
2. Simulation outputs
When the simulation is done, switch to Data Visualization. Available outputs include interior/exterior/ambient temperature, PMV, PPD and shading masks.
Here is a view of the interior and exterior temperatures resulting in urban simulation of the city center of Strasbourg, using a hourly time step.
