Installation

To get executables and install the Ktirio-GUI application, you have to download the latest release of the executable corresponding to your system exploitation (Linux, Windows, MacOS or Wasm).

The corresponding link for downloading latest releases is here.

1. Run Ktirio-GUI in your Browser (WASM)

You can use Ktirio-GUI directly from your browser without installing anything locally via the Ktirio Web User Interface service.

1.1. First-Run Checklist (WASM & Desktop)

After the UI loads for the first time:

  1. Open Options  Settings.

  2. Configure the Mapbox token under Options  Settings  Servers  MapBox to enable geocoding and tile loading.

  3. Optional: add other servers (Open-Meteo, Girder, Ktirio Services) depending on your workflow.

2. Desktop Installers (Linux/Windows/macOS)

Download the installer/archive for your platform from the releases page and follow the OS-specific steps. On macOS, you may need to allow the app in System Settings if Gatekeeper prompts appear.

3. Troubleshooting

  • Blank screen or “Error loading application”: hard refresh the page (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R) or open in a private window to clear cached HTML/JS.

  • 404 or MIME errors when opening a PR preview: ensure the URL ends with a trailing slash, i.e., /.

  • “Mapbox token missing”: open Options  Settings  Servers  MapBox and paste your token. A yellow banner and a dialog will guide you.
